Offically "Pregnant"

Well, the past couple days have been crazy busy here at the Hunnicutt household! Some "suprise" funding came through to Jed and I for our adoption. Thankfully our adoption facilitators at Lifetime had a summer rollback program going on so we were able to get a little bit more off our fee, on top of our military discount they offered! I contacted, Kristine, our adoption family coordinator, to get the paperwork rolling! I called multiple times and sent numerous emails just to check to see if she had typed up our contracts yet. I felt like I was stalking her! Of course, she did not mind one bit! It was a long night, and even longer morning, waiting to get our contracts! We finally got them via email, and then Yahoo had issues going on so it was taking even longer to get them signed! Needless to say we got our contracts signed this afternoon and now we are an OFFICIAL ADOPTIVE FAMILY AT LIFETIME!!!! The next step is to talk to our new adoption coordinator to get our family profile, website, video, etc set up! Then they will start showing our profile to prospective birth moms! Once a birth mom looks at our profile, she has the opportunity to choose us to be the family which she feels best suited for her baby! Then again, just the waiting game for the baby to arrive (which could be 1 day or 3+ months). Although we have been on the adoption journey going on 7 months, the Hunnicutts can officially say we are "pregnant"!!!!!!!!! Which brings such joy to my heart and tears to my eyes! We cannot wait to be parents again to another precious baby! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers as we have been going through this process! We know this is all in God's timing and we are fully trusting in Him for everything!!!! Love you all! The Hunnicutts!

Approved!

Well our hard work has paid off and Jed and I are officially approved as a prospective adoptive couple! Our 3 hour home study was a little nerve wrecking but went so smoothly! Our awesome case worker, Laura, was so easy to work with. It was a little funny when she walked in the house and didn't realize we had a 4 yr old haha! I don't see how that slipped our conversations, but it was alright. Of course, Hayden took a while to warm up to her and talk, but ended up talking about the adoption just fine. She asked Jed and I both a million questions, together and separately, and took even more notes! Then on Monday she emailed us our draft to proofread and correct for mistakes. We quickly sent in our edits and then got the official copy of our home study today!!! I think both Jed and I's heads are spinning a little knowing that we could be getting a baby very soon, but we know we will be ready and excited for whenever that happens! Now we are just waiting for approval for the no interest loan with an amazing Christian organization! Then after that we will just be waiting to get our baby!!!! We have also been extremely blessed by wonderful friends who have offered to throw us a baby shower! For those of you who don't know, I gave away all of Hayden's baby things to a friend in need so we were not sure where all the extra money for new baby stuff was going to come from after adoption expenses. This is so exciting for us to have such amazing friends who care so much about us, in such a short time here in Texas! (On a side note, I think Jed and I have officially picked out baby names!) Please remember to keep us in your prayers as we continue our journey!

Home Study

Well we were not suppose to have our home study home visit until the 29th of June, but something came up with our home study agents schedule and we are now having it this Saturday!!! We have been slowly getting ready for the home visit by filling out a page or two of our 30 page questionnaire, but now is crunch time! We completed our questionarrie this afternoon and have almost all of the child proofing mechanisms in place! The soon-to-be nursery is cleared and ready for furniture! Now to just get a few last minute but important things for the house like a first aid kit and a fire screen. I have all of the paperwork in one location and WHOA that's a lot of info! I think Jed and I have basically summed up our lives into one 3 ring binder! It is a good thing that we didn't have to do this to become parents the first time or we might have not passed the bar! I got a kick out of some of our answers, but I hope that it will just help our personalities to show through paper (yes, one answer was we just go together, like peanut butter and jelly). We are so excited for this to happen and know that this is just one step closer to bringing our baby home!Jed has been on the baby fever train for a while now and I don't think he can wait any longer to hold a little baby in his loving arms! Hopefully by next Father's Day he will be a daddy of 2! Please keep praying for us as we go through this journey! We still have a LOOOOONG way to go on the funds, but we know with time and God we will get them soon! Love, Renee

First Adoption Fundraiser!

So Jed and I have been back and forth about what to do to get the funds together for our adoption and know that we have family and friends out there who love us and would love to help us through this. So my good friend, Katie Gillam at https://katiegillam.scentsy.us/Home has graciously offered to do a Scentsy fundraiser for our adoption! All of the proceeds with go 100% to our adoption expenses! So please share this with your mom, your sister, your crazy aunt, and any body else you can think of!

There is also a link to the side of the page to send you straight to our adoption fundraiser!!!

Thank you all in advance and please continue to pray for our family in this journey!

We would like to formally announce....

The Hunnicutt family would like to formally announce that we are adopting!!! WOW! I said it! We are adopting... After dealing with infertility, our family has decided to turn to the wonderful gift of adoption. We wanted to expand our family and just had to figure out the way for that to happen. God has definitely opened the doors for adoption and here we are!

We are just now starting the home study process which involves TONS of paperwork, background checks, references, physicals, and more paperwork! Basically they are just verifying that Jed and I can be good adoptive parents. This process will take a few weeks to complete, but after we are approved we will begin the long road to saving the funds we need to adopt. We have found an adoption facilitator to work with and help us find our baby, but we are not going to sign our family contract until we have the funds to adopt. We have become debt free and are not planning to change that with the adoption. We know debt free adoption can be done and we will do it!

Once we sign our contract with our adoption facilitator, we will start preparing a family profile to show potential birth mothers. Once we are picked by a birth mother, we can either accept or decline her offer. This could take one month or it could take a couple years. We know it will all happen in God’s timing, we just hope we will be able to see it easily.

That being said, we would be so grateful if you could pray for us. Pray for our future child. Pray for the birth parents. Pray for Jed, Hayden, and I. Pray that we will be able to diligently save our money and that I can find a job to help supplement our income. We know that God has everything worked out for us and will trust that we can see that no matter what. We know that adoption is not an easy path and thankful we have such a wonderful family to help us through!

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. And please share the news with everyone! We will need as many prayer warriors as we can get!!! This is a new and exciting journey for us and we cannot wait to see where it takes us!
